Drive from Melbourne to Bright for approx 240km.

Explore the picturesque town and enjoy a relaxing evening by the Ovens River.

Day trip to Mount Buffalo National Park.

Enjoy hiking to The Horn, a stunning granite peak with panoramic views. Go to the Mount Buffalo Chalet and enjoy the park’s beautiful walking trails and waterfalls.

Drive to the town of Beechworth and Milawa.

Enjoy Beechworth’s historical heritage and grab some delicious treats from Beechworth Bakery. Take time to visit Milawa and indulge in wine tasting and cheese from its local winery and Milawa cheese factory. You can choose to spend your night in Beechworth or Milawa.

Drive to the Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain.

Mount Hotham is a popular ski resort in the Victorian Alps, with its wide variety of winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. You can also visit Dinner Plain, a nearby alpine village to experience its breathtaking views. You may choose to stay for 3 days in Mount Hotham or Dinner Plain.

Drive to Mansfield and Lake Eildon.

Mansfield is a town at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The town is known for its Mansfield Historical Museum. Lake Eildon is know for fishing and water sports. After visiting the 2, you may enjoy the night back to Mansfield before heading back home.

Drive from Mansfield to Melbourne for approx 140km.

You may opt to do a quick visit to Yarra’s Valley for wine tasting before heading back home.

Inclusions

  • Trip departs from The Tupperware Factory Ferntree Gully , Victoria. (Interstate clients can meet us en route - prior agreement is required)
  • 4x4 training course - compulsory 1-2 day course to be completed prior to travel (course fee included)

  • All campground fees
  • Dedicated camera person and video of the trip (provided on USB)
  • Camp shower and shower tent (set up *most* nights where logistics and water supply permits.) Where possible on the longer trips we will stop for supply replenishment and if possible, look for a shower facility for everyone (i.e. in a caravan park or town facility).
  • Convoy β€˜leaders vehicles’ - fully equipped for all trip conditions and the support role.
  • Guidance for four-wheel driving as required.
  • Pre-trip surveys (to check campsites, road conditions, any road closures etc). Whilst we run these surveys throughout the trip, we do not provide a set itinerary as it can often change. We will provide enough information to allow you to understand the direction and key locations. In the event that a survey can’t be undertaken our mapping equipment together with Google Earth will provide us with the information we need,
  • Trip planning and mapping (all trips are mapped on OziExplorer software so that we run to a predetermined route, as well as a Plan B when needed). We retain flexibility to allow for breakdowns and unforeseen circumstances. Daily updates of the itinerary for the day so that you know what is ahead and can plan your lunch etc as well as the evening meal.
  • First Aid Support – All tour guides hold First Aid Certificates and can provide basic first aid.
  • Basic β€˜bush mechanics’. We assist with tyre changes and vehicle issues where we can.
  • Emergency satellite phones carried at all times for emergencies.
  • β€˜Home Charlie’ contact should we need home-based assistance for anything.
  • All trip meals are provided as follows. Menu selection email is sent via email prior to travel:
  • Breakfast – Choice of cereal and muesli with milk of your choice, toast and condiments. Billy tea and plunger coffee. Hot breakfast is provided some mornings and also may have leftover dinner toasted sandwiches or bubble and squeak.
  • Lunch – Selection of sandwich meats and salads with either bread, wraps or crackers and condiments with Billy tea and coffee.
  • Dinner – Open fire spit roasts, camp oven meals and dumplings, stir-fries, pastas, seafood and curry. Accompanied with either roasted vegetables, salad, pasta, rice or damper.
  • Desserts/Supper - Billy Tea, coffee, hot milo, campfire marshmallows. Some nights we may offer a camp oven dessert such as apple crumble or rum fruit cake with ice cream or custard.
  • Meals are carefully planned to cover all needs to keep it all-inclusive for your convenience. You can just come along and enjoy the trip and let us do the cooking for you

  • We travel to some pretty remote and rugged territory and finding parts or doing repairs can be extremely difficult.
